Sphingolipids such as ceramide are important constituents of cell membranes. The
ceramide transfer protein (CERT) moves ceramide from the endoplasmic reticulum to the
Golgi apparatus in a nonvesicular manner. Hyperphosphorylation of the serine-repeat motif
